Short version: we collect as little as possible, we never require your name, and we never sell your data.

Bill submissions

When you share a bill, we collect the answers you type in: hospital, year, type of birth, coverage type, optional insurer name, plan amounts, bill amounts, what it included and optional notes. We don’t ask for your name, address, date of birth or account numbers — please don’t include them. A moderator reviews each submission and removes anything identifying before publishing. Published bills are anonymous.

Email (optional)

If you give us an email address — on the bill form or the newsletter form — we use it only to send the Bump Budget newsletter if you asked for it. It is never published. Your due date is used only to time which emails you get. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Service providers

Forms are processed by our hosting provider’s form service (currently planned: Netlify Forms), and the newsletter may later be sent by an email service such as Buttondown, Beehiiv or Kit. Those providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Analytics and cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, we’ll choose a privacy-friendly, cookieless option and update this page.

Health information

We aren’t a healthcare provider or health plan, and we don’t receive your medical records. Please share only cost information — not diagnoses or medical details you’d prefer to keep private.
